John J. Collins, Esq.

John Collins practices in the areas of plaintiffs' litigation, including personal injury and products liability, corporate representation, university and college representation, family law, employment, real estate and commercial litigation. John has handled several cases involving issues related to islands, lakefront properties and lighthouses on Lake Champlain.
John is past president of the Vermont Trial Lawyers Association and is a member of the American Association of Trial Lawyers. John received his bachelor's degree in economics from Rutgers University. He graduated from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, California, cum laude, in 1983. John has been practicing law in Vermont since 1983. John actively volunteers his time for many non–profit entities, including the Vermont Adaptive Program, which provides skiing and snowboarding opportunities to children and others with physical or mental disabilities, Never Give Up, which provides support to families with children suffering from cancer and other terminal or life threatening illnesses, and Joining Against Cancer in Kids, Inc. which provides research funds for childhood cancer and TOUCH Uganda, Inc. which helped establish and continues to support a pediatric clinic in rural Uganda.  
He chaired the District IV Environmental Commission relating to Act 250 issues for five years. John has also volunteered for the American Heart Association, chairing the state board and serving as a member of the National Board of Directors for the American Heart Association. John is admitted to practice before the state courts of Vermont, New Jersey and California and before the United States District Court, State of Vermont.
